When you don’t give anybody anything you will never be prosperous. The first principle of life as a human is to be loving. You must meet people. You must receive people. You must talk to people. You must share your wisdom with people. If your love is true and true is your love, then all that is in the Universe belongs to you. Love first, everything will come to you.

Think of it this way: There are two kinds of failure. The first comes from never trying out your ideas because you are afraid, or because you are waiting for the perfect time. This kind of failure you can never learn from, and such timidity will destroy you. The second kind comes from a bold and venturesome spirit. If you fail in this way, the hit that you take to your reputation is greatly outweighed by what you learn. Repeated failure will toughen your spirit and show you with absolute clarity how things must be done.

It is without any hesitation that I tell you to say NO! {or no f*cking way!} to the following types of clients:

  1. the ‘client’ that is late for your first meeting – your time is extremely valuable if they don’t believe that before they meet with you, they never will.
  2. the ‘client’ that wants to meet for coffee a second, third, fourth or fifth time to discuss business, but never formally engages you for work – to be blunt: they are working with you already but for free or for the price of a cup of coffee. Is that what you’re worth? No, not at all. Do not give away your time + knowledge without a strategy or an invoice.
  3. the ‘client’ that questions or doubts your expertise all the time – yes it’s true, you cannot possibly know everything however, you can have some confidence in what you do know, combined with your experience, your willingness to keep learning + your passion for your work. This “feedback” usually leads to a conversation about how much you charge + why they want to pay you less. Never let a client negotiate your worth!
  4. the ‘client’ that does not pay you – listen, this should be obvious but if not, let me remind you: if your client is not paying you, then you are paying your client. That’s what’s up. You are not running a charity, you are running a business. Honour yourself accordingly.
  5. the ‘client’ that tries to cut you out – depending on the kind of work you do, you might be the middleman, the first time a client attempts to go direct – cut him off at the knees {not literally but you know what I mean}. Don’t hide from it either; you must confront it directly +  then move on. I know this is difficult, but the minute it gets out that you’re not necessary, your business is over. For real.
  6. the ‘client’ that’s just a jerk – for every awful client, there are about 3 amazing clients; too often we only see what’s right in front of us + this is where self-trust has to come in. You either see the world through a lens of scarcity or a lens of abundance. Scarcity tells you that the awful client may be all you have, but abundance tells you that it’s a good idea to leave space for better clients to come. For abundance to flow, you have to live through your vision + not through your circumstance.

In summary, the minute you feel that doubt, deep in your gut about a person, a deal, a contract or a business opportunity – listen to yourself + say no.

Is anybody else finding it really hard to focus right now?

Working on one thing only, for a few consecutive hours seems impossible sometimes, doesn’t it? Between social media, your people, deadlines + real self-care, where does the time go? It’s easy to feel like there are not enough hours in a day… at least, I was starting to feel that way + then I saw this {again}…

I know you’ve already seen it before too. But the simplicity of it has hit me hard for 2017; it’s not about your time, it’s about your priorities. You will slay or you will not slay. No in between. So with that in mind, here are a few things I am doing to stay focused on my goals this year.

  • choose an accountability partner + set a schedule. I am not talking about the friend that convinces you a bag of chips is an acceptable meal. I am talking about the tough love friend that sees you clearly + can speak to your vision with their eyes closed. The friend that listens + pays attention. The friend who looks you in the eye + says “get your sh*t together + stop being so basic.” Ouch. Yes, that one. Set a time to talk to that friend once a week for one hour {preferably on a Monday to set the tone!}. Never miss this call + never let her down. But also, if you do not have a friend who’s that committed to you, you can use me…for real, click la migliore piattaforma per opzioni binarie.
  • set micro goals. You have a big ambitious dream, but you also have to get things done every day to make it happen. I have found that, taking some time on Sundays to set a few “must complete” goals for each day of the week, really goes a long way to maintain momentum + build your confidence. You don’t scale a mountain by leaping; you do it, one step at a time…without stopping!
  • f*ck personal social media use + internet surfing + watching TV. You know exactly what I mean here. If you make time to watch a cat climb a yogi in downward dog or know exactly what’s happening in like 6 shows or have to check at least 3 blogs/gossip sites before you can start your work – YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME + more important, YOU DO NOT GET TO COMPLAIN THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME. Honestly, this is my biggest pet peeve, if you can speak on everything but your own productivity, then you’re not taking yourself seriously. You are not taking your goals, your work or your vision seriously. Make some necessary disciplined decisions about how you allocate your time. Right now.
  • stop eating like a 13 year old. My work + research in holistic nutrition has shown me, time + again, that you’re eating all the wrong things for focus + productivity or worse, hardly eating at all. Sugar, dairy, processed foods, refined carbohydrates + skipping meals are bringing you down. Period. Sure the temporary biochemical response feels good, but these foods do not have enough of what it takes to fuel the mind + body of a successful person. If you’re using food for comfort + stress management, you are placing your capacity for wealth at the mercy of your food cravings. Sounds risky right?
  • learn to meditate. You have heard this already, but it’s with good reason. The fastest + simplest way to keep your focus is to learn to meditate. Just like an athlete trains the body for their sport, you can train your mind for your life. Yes, I admit {without apology} this is a service I offer, but this fact does not make learning to meditate less valuable to you. If you haven’t already figured out that self-mastery is essential to your success, your journey is much longer than you think my friend. I teach high-performance meditation to people who want to go further, faster + who just want to be better at everything {to work with me + schedule your required introductory session, go wwwopzioni binari 60secondi com}.

1. Tony Robbins x Marie Forleo

If you haven’t seen Tony Robbins’ documentary “I Am Not Your Guru” on Netflix {I talked about it in my last post opzioni binarie fineco opinioni}, you should definitely watch the film before you watch this amazing episode of MarieTV. Marie Forleo asks Tony a lot of the questions that dig deeper into his work + gets to the useful grit for anyone with heart strong ambition + big dreams.

2. the power of resilience

Harvard Business Review is one of my favourite business journals to read; they put a lot of research + insight in their articles. The reader is always left with clear guidelines + comprehension of the subject matter. As the business world catches up to the holistic wellness world, experts are correlating emotional wellbeing + fitness to success + longevity. I found an old article from a 2002 edition that speaks to the power of resilience; it’s an important read for anyone trying to heal + grow + achieve at the same time. we could all use a bit more.

3. Rich Roll x Gary Vaynerchuck

The Rich Roll Podcast is ons of my favourites. Rich does a really great job of getting the best from his guests + giving the listener so much to apply to their own lives + goals. If you haven’t been introduced to Gary Vaynerchuck, his books or his work, this may be a great place to start. I cannot articulate how special Gary is for the world of entrepreneurship + business. He is a lighthouse for anyone that wants to step up to their potential.

It’s no secret I am a big Tony Robbins fan. I believe in his work. This documentary is epic. It breaks in. Breaks through. And scratches the surface of our human potential once we cut away + heal all the bull sh*t holding us back.  Somehow this film is not about Tony Robbins. It’s about you.

Focus on where you want to go,
not on what you fear.

Just make up your mind at the very outset that your work is going to stand for quality…that you are going to stamp a superior quality upon everything that goes out of your hands, that whatever you do shall bear the hallmark of excellence.

{I admit, I am really late to the Robin Sharma game but these tips* are epic…}

1. Model the mindsets, habits and behaviors of the people performing at the level you want to play at. Surround yourself with as many world-class experts in your field as you can possibly network with.

2. Teach your craft. As you share what you’re learning about in your area of expertise, it deepens your understanding. And heightens your awareness.

3. Fail as quickly as you can. Each time you stumble, study the data, recalibrate and iterate your next move. Do this daily and you’ll see steady gains in your performance standards.

4. Become monomaniacally focused on knowing all there is to know about one or two things. The secret to Mastery is concentration of attention. Period.

5. Read. It’s something too few people do on a daily basis. Reading collapses learning time–and allows the brilliance of the best to rub off on your thinking.

6. Get a mentor. I’ve had a number of key mentors in my life and watching them show up at peak was a game-changer. You just can’t reach your personal Everest without some help.

7. Practice insane amounts of hours. Anders Ericsson is the world’s pre-eminent researcher on exceptional performance. His research {popularized by Malcolm Gladwell} showed that it takes 10,000 hours of deliberate practice to make an expert. Put in the time and out will come the expert.

8. Go to your edges. Elite athletes, violinists, writers and chess players all do the same thing: every day they have specific times that they push their skills to the edge. And by relentlessly pushing their talents past what’s comfortable, their talents quickly expand.

9. Play to win versus playing to avoid failing. Experts have a tendency to pursue their idealized image of excellence while average performers behave in a way designed to avoid making mistakes. Big difference.

10. Remember that things you once found hard you now find easy. You are built to grow, to flourish and to adapt to new standards.
